2024-2025 Board of Directors
Each year, the Junior Economic Club of Atlanta’s Alumni Board (composed of three former Chapter Presidents) selects a cohort of eight motivated officers to lead the chapter into the next school year. Applicants are evaluated based on past leadership experience, economics know-how, and past contributions to the chapter.
Neal Karani
Neal Karani, President, is a senior at Lambert High School, where he serves as a Region 12 Officer for the Future Business Leaders of America, an Officer of the Investment Club, and a member of the Academic Team. He joined JEC in order to connect with individuals who could broaden his horizons in the field of economics, and find people he could truly share a passion with.
Sahmitha Kovi
Samhitha Kovi, Vice President, is a junior at Lambert High School, where she serves as a Co-President for the Lambert Speech & Debate Team, the Region 11 President for the Future Business Leaders of America, and an officer for her school’s math team. She joined JEC to develop her knowledge of economics and share her passion with peers and professionals across the state. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, cooking, and hiking.
anant verma
Anant Verma, Chief Marketing Officer, is a Junior at West Forsyth High School, where he serves as the Vice-President of Public Relations in Student Government, Membership Officer in FBLA, and runs cross country. He joined JEC in order to meet like-minded people who want to use their knowledge of Economics to advance the club's mission. In his free time, Anant enjoys running, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
Nevin kunampuram
Nevin Kunampuram, Director of Events, is a rising senior at South Forsyth High School, where he serves as a Region 12 Officer for the Future Business Leaders of America and an Officer of the Economics Club. He joined JEC to network with like-minded people and educate others about economics. In his free time, Nevin enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and going to the gym.
Yohan kim
Yohan Kim, Director of Strategic Initiatives, is a rising Junior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. Yohan joined the Junior Economic Club of Atlanta in 2022 in order to develop his knowledge in the subject matter of economics alongside like-minded individuals. Outside of the organization, he enjoys competing in FBLA, listening to music, and reading novels.
Vivan Kotla
Vivan Kotla, Community Outreach Chair, is a sophomore at Lambert High School, where he serves as a Membership Officer in FBLA and competes in DECA and Academic Team. He joined JEC to enhance his understanding of economics and to gain real-world experience. In his free time, Vivan spends time with his dog, bakes, and plays video games.
Yinan Chen
Yinan Chen, Director of the Junior Economist, is a junior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. He joined JEC to explore the intrinsic relationships between economics, politics, and everyday life. Aside from JEC, he also serves as a class officer in student government and peer leadership. Additionally, he is an Allstate band player for clarinet.
Marquitta moore
Marquitta Moore, Director of Communications, is a junior at Archer High School. She joined JEC in order to indulge in economics-related extracurriculars, which are not available at her school. Outside of JEC, Marquitta serves as the Financial Secretary of the Community Partners of Liberia: Georgia organization.
