Shaping and Inspiring Atlanta’s Future Leaders

The Junior Economic Club is an entirely student-led 501(c)(3) non-profit that firmly believes that given the right guidance and support, high school students are capable of addressing the issues facing our society.

The Club brings together bright and ambitious high school students in an exceptional community of discussion, exposure, and leadership. We invest in Atlanta's future by allowing students to understand and solve real-world economic problems in the public and private sectors. In doing so, we nurture a more effective, experienced, and responsible generation of leaders.

Our Story

The Club was founded in 2018 by Michael Istakhorov and Anish Reddy, students at Peachtree Ridge High School, and a group of like-minded high school students.

Since its inception, the Club has impacted over 320 students, 50 schools, and 19 school districts in the Atlanta area.

Members have forged life-long friendships, heard from the nation’s top business executives, and discovered new interests.

Our experienced and knowledgeable speakers offer unique perspectives on the world and their industries.

Our members come from all types of ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.

We work with large organizations such as the City of Atlanta, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Our Structure

We coordinate initiatives that create accessible economics-related opportunities for K-12 students in the Atlanta area.

Our quarterly forums allow members to connect with each other and hear from a number of speakers and panelists.

During our interactive seminars, members engage with industry leaders and learn from their career experience.
